I’ve been going to Walt Disney Walt since I was five years old, but during my last trip I experienced something I’d never done before – a Walt Disney World Endurance Event! Endurance events sponsored by the Wide World of Disney are much more fun than traditional road races – not only are the races through the parks, they also start and end with a great party atmosphere.
In September, I ran the Expedition Everest 5K challenge – a 5K, obstacle course, and scavenger hunt through the Animal Kingdom. Unfortunately, about 3/4 of the way through the 5K we were met with a full-on Florida monsoon downpour (minus the rain). However, the event was so much fun, and next year, I’m planning to do both the Princess 1/2 Marathon and the new Wine and Dine 1/2 Marathon. It’s a great way to get motivated to train for an event!
