Family Travel to the 100 Mile Yard Sale in Missouri
One hundred miles of bargains — hard to resist, right? For the past few years, my gal pals and I have been loading up our vehicles with our kiddos and hitting the 100-mile yard sale that runs from Jackson, MO to Kennett, MO on Highway 25.
Many would say oh this is just another yard sale, but until you actually experience the 100-mile yard sale, and really experience it with kids along you cannot truly appreciate this hilariously fun event.
Our 100-Mile Yard Sale Game Plan
While our husbands laughed at us, and other moms just said we were crazy we meet up early on that Friday morning, load up our vehicle with 6 kids, 3 moms, and lots of humor. We hand each child $5 for their own spending money, and we make our way to the bargains. We have never made it more than 20 miles of 100 miles until our vehicles are loaded with all sorts of bargains. We left last year with a Fisher Price chainsaw, more key chains than we have keys for, a stack of costume jewelry and — most importantly — some smiling faces who happily spent their $5 on whatever their hearts desired.
